A serious platform for a serious decision.

These terms govern your use of MAWADDAH. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use MAWADDAH.

You must be of legal marriageable age in your jurisdiction, of sound mind, and genuinely intending nikāḥ — for yourself or a family member you are assisting with their knowledge and consent.

MAWADDAH is a private, moderator-guided path to gently help sincere Muslims — those serious about nikāḥ — and their families in seeking marriage. It is not a dating app, a chat service, or a profile catalogue.

You agree to provide truthful information about yourself, your situation, your expectations, and your walī. Providing knowingly false information is grounds for suspension and may be reported to your walī or relevant authorities where appropriate.

Every applicant must provide walī or guardian contact details. If no immediate walī is available, a local ʿālim, ʿālimah, aunt, uncle, or trusted family member may be entered. If absolutely no one is available, you may enter your own details — but you accept that the platform is for serious nikāḥ, not for dating or courting. Misuse will result in suspension.

By creating a profile you consent to review of your application and proposed matches by trusted moderators. Moderator access is scoped, limited to what is required, and audit-logged. Moderators are bound by confidentiality and conflict-of-interest agreements.

MAWADDAH may suspend or remove any account that violates these terms or compromises the trust of the platform. We may notify your walī where appropriate. Serious or repeated violations may result in a permanent ban.

MAWADDAH has no in-app messaging or calling between candidates. After a moderator-approved introduction and mutual acceptance, the walī phone number is revealed and you may contact the walī directly by phone, WhatsApp, or SMS — outside the platform. All such contact is intended for serious nikāḥ discussion and must remain dignified.

We use a compatibility engine to support moderator review. AI suggestions are never sent directly to users. Final introductions are always a human decision.

MAWADDAH facilitates introductions only. We do not guarantee compatibility, marriage, the truthfulness of all user-submitted information, or successful outcomes. Users and families remain responsible for making enquiries, verifying information, seeking advice, performing istikhārah, and deciding whether to proceed.

MAWADDAH branding, software, and content are the property of MAWADDAH. You retain ownership of the information and photos you submit and grant us a limited licence to use them strictly for operating the platform.

MAWADDAH is currently free during private beta. If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing terms, and refund eligibility will be made clear at the point of purchase and added to these terms.

You and your family are responsible for verifying the information provided by a match before proceeding to nikāḥ — including identity, marital history, employment, religious practice, and family circumstances. MAWADDAH cannot verify every detail and you should not assume it has.

If you encounter misconduct, false information, harassment, or any breach of trust, report it from the match page or via the contact page. Reports are reviewed and acted on by moderators.

Our handling of personal data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MAWADDAH is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising from use of the platform, including loss arising from interactions with other users or their families. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, with the courts of South Africa having non-exclusive jurisdiction. The governing-law clause will be updated when the operating entity is finalised.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to users. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
